What People Are Saying about prevent

“I very much appreciate and respect how the ASK program is built and put together. Trent sharing his own history of issues with mental health and opening my eyes to how it is managed in systems like prison and homelessness was the biggest eye opener. I especially appreciated how the program give uniquely powerful insights into the highs, lows and delusions arising from mental disorders can affect someone and their life. Whilst being a great example of someone who lives with mental disorders can be very healthy, high-functioning, and contribute very positively to society. Trent and the ASK workshops are hands down the very best I have ever attended, and I not only learnt but grew so much during the day.”

- James, Byron Bay Council

“You are an amazing person Trent with an incredible professional team around you. What you are doing in paving the way for real knowledge for a complex topic is an inspiration to us all. The knowledge and insight of the Prevent team is a class above and workshops are like no other. Honestly I can not praise this course and the team behind it enough. It’s been 3 weeks since our workshop and the whole team here have not stopped talking about it. I look forward to seeing the Prevent team back again as we undergo an EPP (Yippee)”

- Jacqui, Ramada Ballina/Byron

“Both presenters had very different styles, but they sure do complement each other. Great use of practical examples and insight into the whole perspective of mental health and mental disorders. I did not know what to expect with the ASK workshops that my employer organised, but I am so grateful to have been given the opportunity. It sure opened my eyes and both presenters game me a complete understanding of mental health but more importantly gave me real tools that I can use to ensure as they say I stay on the right side of the continuum. I learnt more about health in 3 hours of ASK then I have anywhere else. Love it guys, keep doing what you do.”

INSPIRE - EDUCATE - CONNECT
ASK Workshops are industry-specific, the programs break down previous stigma and barriers associated with mental health education and training by utilising a series of strategies that speaks to the everyday person. ASK Workshops are time efficient, informative and inspiring. ASK Workshops include authentically lived experience presenters and allows participants to be involved in building a culture that harmonises their workplace wellbeing values.

“Trent is an excellent facilitator. Disclosing his own stories within the topic of mental health really helped me solidify the theory we learnt. His interaction with us through interactive games was really engaging. Trent was able to answer all our questions with a unique perspective that was always informative and engaging with a unique personal touch. What an asset Trent is to this space and what an exceptional job he and the Prevent team have done with the ASK workshops. A must for every business and every person.”

- Csilla, UPA Alstonville

“An authentic, open being, refreshing and inspiring. Sharing perspectives, I’ve never heard before but made so much sense, way more sense than I’ve heard anywhere else. Weather it’s the content of the course or the presenters I now fully understand mental health on every level. Shoot for the stars team, this workshop is a must for everyone especially after the past few years of challenges.”

- Sarah, McGrath Ballina

Love Prevent. Very engaging and well-presented material. The content sure was open and honest and really helped me understand what mental health is through the concept of ‘The Triangle’. Exceptional shared stories with such impactful learnings in the workshop. What I’ve learnt through not only has helped myself in work but also into my family home and I’ve never felt better. I never see myself as someone very inspired but ‘Optimize me’ workshop brought a whole new being out in me. Thanks team!

ASK YOUTH is the program which teaches youth all the things you wished you were taught in school. Solution focused with a high importance of promoting our own philosophy from the feet up allowing students to thrive and not survive as they navigate through adolescence and life’s challenges in an ever-evolving world.

ASK YOUTH SUPPORT teaches those caring, supporting and looking after youth the same learnings and how to be a support for the youth. Both programs integrate to the already existing school structure and meet desired development needs, a must have for all Teachers.

The ASK YOUTH Program utilises unique learning techniques to inspire, educate and connect students to grow their physical, mental and social health. Prevent facilitates ASK YOUTH Workshops with an approach of not your parent, not your teacher, but as role models. The facilitators are vulnerable in sharing their own walks of life, captivating the attention respect and engagement from all participants leaving everyone more equipped, whole, connected and solution focused.

ASK YOUTH ensures students know how to ASK for help themselves, putting themselves as number one, something often not taught. Tools are shared that teach students how to be responsible for themselves and their mates as they move through adolescence, making better decisions and understanding the health triangle of thoughts, feelings, and behaviours. Facilitators ensure students understand the value of support, how to offer support, how to reach out for support and how to create support networks.

At the end of The ASK YOUTH Program students know how to access every level of support from Professionals to self-advocacy and how to take action over awareness. ASK YOUTH program gives students a memorable life-changing workshop opening new ways of thinking and equips participants with a real life toolbelt readily available. Prevent Consultants philosophy “Prevention is the cure” begins in schools and carries out through life.

“Trent has delivered a number of courses at my school for both staff and students over the last 6 years. He has worked with both boys and girls in in a variety of personal development sessions run at the school in either weekly blocks or on pastoral/development days. I have personally witnessed the impact that Trent has had on the students wellbeing after participation in the ASK Youth program. He has equipped many students with the confidence to express themselves in a confident manner and discuss issues which have previously been ‘off limits’. I’m in awe of his ability to create a ‘safe place’ for the students to discuss a variety of issues in front of their own peers. Couldn’t speak more highly of Trent and the team”

- John, Teacher, Ballina

“To have a crew that are so willing to fit into our needs is amazing, and that's totally what sets Prevent apart from any other Mental Health company we have dealt this. Thank you team, not only do you impact our students but you also impact us teachers.”

- Tee, Teacher, N.Z.

“I was instantly impressed by the Prevents team enthusiasm and their genuine care for the students. So much time and energy has been invested into what i believe as a wellbeing coordinator an integral part of every students learning to be able to learn from those who have walked the walk and not just talk the talk.”

- Andrea, Teacher, Lennox Head

“All the team worked really hard and focused on engaging with the children. They were relatable and easy for the kids to talk to. The extra work they did in breaks to play and talk to the kids was really valuable for the connection building. Thank you.”

- Matthew, Principal, Cromwell.NZ

When receiving a note from the school about the ASK program i didn’t know what to expect but from the take home material and the response from my boys I’d have to say I’m very impressed. My boys lack role models and since the ASK program it’s like they embraced the learnings and have began developing in areas that was once off topic”
